Quick Notes About Me
Exercise has always been an important part of my life. At a young age I was introduced to team sports and was enrolled in various community leagues playing soccer and basketball. Martial Arts training became an endeavor in which I was brought into early on and still continue to this day. I've experienced many benefits of living a life of consistently pushing my physical limitations and am on a mission to share this with as many people as I can.
My childhood heroes included Michael Jordan, Barry Sanders, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee. These individuals had superior physical abilities. They were able to do things most people in the world could not. I thought, "If they can do it, so can I." Of course, the training makes all the difference. Mediocre training allows for mediocre capabilities. This sparked the question of "HOW" and has driven me to seek as much knowledge of the limitations of the human body ever since.
Learning new skills always seemed impossible at first, so I would break it down and train small sections at a time. This format helped improve my movement efficiency when training in Krav Maga or Jiu Jitsu, as well as streamline my strength gains when working on my single arm pull-ups or handstand. The concept of building a strong foundation, the small components that make up the whole, became the basis of my training philosophy and helped to improve all aspects of my life, which led me deeper into optimizing myself physically, mentally and even spiritually. This is when breathwork, meditation and cold-water exposure found its way into my training regimen.
I've come to view exercise as a way of life, as cliché as that may sound, with a hyper focus on form and function to maintain a strong, powerful, mobile and flexible body. However it's only part of the whole. Breathwork, meditation and cold-water has many amazing benefits such as reducing stress and anxiety, instilling discipline, improving focus and increasing energy. I know many people don't believe simple practices can have such dramatic effects, but I feel it every time and can tell you my mental state has improved drastically since implementing these modalities as part of my daily routine.
Everyday I strive to learn and grow, not only for myself but to become more of an asset to my clients and everyone around me. I love what I do and have a passion to continue to surpass the person I was yesterday.
